Editorial Methodology
How every formula on elCalculador is sourced, built, tested and reviewed before publication.
How We Build Every Calculator
Every calculator on elCalculador starts from a published, standard formula — never a proprietary or approximated one. Examples include the fixed-rate amortization formula for our mortgage and loan calculators, the Mifflin-St Jeor equation for our calorie calculator, and internationally published conversion charts for our sizing tools.
We do not invent formulas or use "close enough" heuristics anywhere on the site — if a standard, citable method exists for a calculation, that is the method we implement.
Our Verification Process
About the Development & Financial Engineering Team
elCalculador is built and maintained by Pascal, an independent web publisher and developer who designs, codes and audits every calculator on this network personally, alongside a small group of subject-matter reviewers consulted for finance- and health-specific formulas.
Financial calculators (mortgage, loan, VAT/tax, margin, budget and sales tools) are built using standard financial-engineering formulas drawn from public banking and accounting references, then reviewed line-by-line for correctness before publication. Health-adjacent tools follow the same process using peer-published clinical nutrition formulas.
We are a small, independent operation — not a bank, accounting firm, or medical practice — which is exactly why we are explicit about our disclaimers and methodology rather than presenting ourselves as a substitute for licensed professional advice.
Corrections & Accuracy Reports
Despite our process, no calculator is beyond error. If you believe a formula, worked example, or result is incorrect, please tell us via our Contact page with the calculator name and the input values you used. We investigate every accuracy report and correct verified errors promptly.
